I was very excited when my first book was published in 2008; but like most new authors, I didn’t know that getting published was only half the battle.
That’s when I learned the facts of life about being an author: Nobody is going to buy a book that they don’t know exists; and that nobody was going to market my book for me. If you’re an author, you have to be a book marketer too.
I started by taking baby steps—creating my own blog and website, and promoting my first book, The Bible Believer’s Handbook, on social media, and selling it on the Internet.
My second book, God’s Wisdom, is almost finished, and I’m going to publish it as an eBook on Amazon Kindle. I didn’t know how I was going to ever get this done, until I found self-publishing guru and Christian author Shelley Hitz.
Shelley is one of the pioneers in selling eBooks on Kindle, and her latest book is Marketing Your Book on Amazon. She provides twenty-one strategies for effective marketing that cost little or nothing. One of the best things that I’ve learned from it is this: how to get Amazon to advertise your book for free.
Marketing Your Book on Amazon is a treasure trove of useful information for everyone who wants to sell eBooks on Kindle. Here’s the link to the Amazon page:
